Under the Weather

I am sorry that it has been a week since I last updated. It does not seem like that much time has gone by. At this point in my pregnancy I can't believe I am saying that, but it is true.

Sean has had runny nose-coughing issues all week. Like most kids, when he does not feel well he wants Mommy's undivided attention so I have not been on the computer much. Then on Friday, Jacob started complaining of a tummy ache which turned into some yucky virus. He was up all night vomiting and still was yucky Saturday and today. He is starting to keep things on his tummy though and it does not appear that anyone else has it...thank goodness.

The babies are doing great. Not giving mom too many problems. I am just moving slow and am very tired, but I think that is as much from other issues of the week as much as it is from them. I go to the doctor on Tuesday and will report if there is any new news.

Also, my mom arrives for a visit Thursday and then Eric will be heading out of town to go hunting. I will be spending lots of time letting my mom run things and me relaxing so that Luke and Rebecca do not get over anxious to come into the world while Daddy is out of town. :)

Bon Appetit

Posted by Picasa

This weekend I was blessed yet again by some of my dearest friends. Many women who have busy lives, schedules, kids and hubby's at home took hours out of their Saturday to get together and make meals for my family. Many more helped plan, shop and pay for the ingredients and I have been left speechless by this act of kindness (and for those of you who know me well...you know that does not happen often).

They all look delicious!!!! I have almost 20 meals in my freezer ready to heat up along with side dishes to help me make it through these last couple of weeks until Rebecca and Luke decide to come meet everyone.

If you are one of those wonderful women reading this update....thank you, thank you, thank you. Your thoughtfulness is so appreciated.

Carrying twins has seriously increased my waistline, and with all this good food I am sure it is going to grow even more...oh well, I'm pregnant...I will enjoy it while I can.

More Good News

For those of you who follow Gracie's blog, this post will not be quite as exciting as hers was this week (her mommy was surprised and is being sent on a cruise), but for our family it is very exciting.

Eric spoke with Sean's doctor on Friday and his biopsy results came back. He does not have ANY abnormalities. So not only have they ruled out Celiac, but the doctor does not believe there are any other foods irritating his tummy either. That is such a huge blessing. We are still not sure what the root of Sean's tummy issues are, but we have a game plan.

For the next month we are going to give him daily meds to help him go to the potty better. The doctor believes that Sean is "holding it." And those were the technical words he used. After a month or so, if things have not improved we will probably go see a physical therapist to make sure his abdominal muscles are strong enough.

So even though we do not have any quick fixes we at least know what the problem is not. We will take that for now. Thank you so much for keeping our family in your prayers.

9 pounds 4 ounces!

Well, the reslults are in. The Taylor twins are weighing in at 9 pounds 4 ounces! Luke is 4 pounds 13 ounces and Rebecca is not far behind at 4 pounds 7 ounces. Both babies are at healthy weights for their age and everything looks normal. Their heartbeats were both in the 150's which the doctor says was great. Unfortunately, Luke and Rebecca were both being camera shy and would not turn for a photo so I have nothing to scan in...so everyone is just going to have to wait a few more weeks to meet them in person.

I still do not have any information avout Sean's biopsy, but I promise to update as soon as possible. Thanks so much for keeping us in your prayers and checking in on us.

Conniption Fit

When I was younger I remember my mother and grandmother using the words conniption fit. I haven't thought about this word in ages but today I was reminded of these words. Today I saw what must have been a conniption fit.

Sean had his surgery and everything went well. The doctor spoke with us and indicated that we should have some results by Thursday. We waited for Sean to wake in recovery. When the nurse came out I went back alone to be with him and Eric took Jacob on a walk around the hospital. I heard Sean long before I saw him...long before. I was so happy that he was awake and their were no problems, but for a brief moment I wanted to walk by this screaming, hitting, wild child and shake my head pretending that he was someone else's monster. I didn't do that. In my mind I thought that the tantrum would stop when he saw me and I held him...boy was I wrong! About 45 minutes later, when the meds started to wear off a little more, he calmed down. Sweet Sean is back to normal and we are all a little tired, but doing well. Thank you so much for your prayers, we all felt them today.

Later this week I will be going in for another ultra sound to check on the babies. I am feeling ok, just tired and heavy. I am sure the babies are growing because I am feeling it. I will post as soon as I know anything.
